I’m all for it. Some people are "disappointed" with Al Gore’s winning of the Nobel Prize for peace. I’m not. I think the man is a fighter and an example to all of us. He lost the elections in the worst possible way (aka he didn’t loose them but didn’t get the job); instead of going home and moan about it he decided to be useful.

Alarmist? Yes. Populist? Yes. Doing something unlike most of us??? Definitely yes. He embraced a cause, and might be criticized for not the most scientific accuracy, the truth is that he had an important part in the awakening of the common man (myself included, although I actually am a woman, or 1/2 of one).

I started recycling and bought ecological light bulbs after seeing his movie. A drop in the ocean some will say. Oh well, the ocean is made of many drops. And the fact that his actions raise some discussion means he must be doing something right.

I just hope he doesn’t run for President of USA. Al, if you read this just don’t do it. Leave it for the Hillary’s and Obama’s and Schwarzenegger’s of this world. You have a far more important task to do: save the planet!

I LUV PAREE

It was a gorgeous Saturday morning scenery in old Brussels, oddly as it may seam. Our hearts were filled with yearning, yearning for what was ahead of us, yearning for the filled day that laid ahead of us. Direction: 300km south, destination: the most beautiful and vibrant city in the world.
It was a sunny and quite warm Pareee that welcomed me, Ana C, Xana, André and the annoying Bruno.

We had lunch and a then later a stroll, gazing in awe at the sheer reality that this beautiful wonder of mankind is only 300k away from Brussels; I could not take my mind off how the people beautifully mixed their clothes, and also the fact that they were not limited to wearing grey, beige and brown. On another hand, neither could my friends, because I reminded them every 34,5268 minutes.

In the very mild afternoon we went to the beautiful Notre Dame, were we stood in awe at such beautiful scenery, and at the commercial vision of this church, by putting candles at a modest 2 and 5 Euro price.

Then some catching of the last rays of sun, at the sound of Garota de Ipanema in a jazz version, just gazing the river, thinking that happiness is all in the simple things, like strolling through beautiful Paris and having money to shop there one day.

In the evening we were fortunate to see the Rugby World Cup quarter final between France and New Zealand in the beautiful Hotel de Ville, were we gazed in awe at the Frenchmen going berserk; and still in aw I managed to,during the game, get insulted, be strangulated with my own scarf with the help of a blind Frenchmen, fall on top of somewhere between 5 to 15 people and get kicked a couple of times. There were a lot of people there, all staring in awe at the giant screen.

At the end of the evening we stood in awe to how it was possible to be 2 hours and a half in a traffic jam to leave Paris at midnight. Got home about 4 something in the morning and then I stood gazing in awe at my bed thinking it had never looked so welcoming…

HOLLYWOOD PARTY!-SATURDAY 29TH SEPT

Saturday we celebrated the birthday of two friends Rosa and Sofia. Well I suppose the photos show well how good it was. Hollywood themed, one had to go dressed as a movie or TV character. I went as Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and The City. What a shocker eh? Completely unexpected.

Anyways here goes my top costume list:
1st place-Indiana Jones
2nd place-Clark Kent(s), Steve and Manel
3rd place-Lara Croft AKA Nocas estrela do mar. She had a kalashnikov.

I was shall we say a wee bit drunk. A tad. And happy :). Must remember to get drunk more often.
